How does one "embody" a spirit?

Postby Pizdabol » Thu Jun 14, 2018 11:40 am

What's there to "embody" in a spirit? Fluff-wise it'd makes more sense to sac a non-spirit creature. Just saying.

Other than that the new card looks pretty sweet, minor stuff like that really annoys me though. It's cause I want the game to be perfect in every way 8-)

PS. Speaking of, when are you gonna rename Natures Encouragement to Nature finds a Way. That sounds dumb as shit.

As far as I understand it, Eranuel "absorbs" the spirit (so this is why he get Swift). This wouldn't be possible with non-spirit creatures.

You don't embody the spirit, the spirit embodies you.
... actually ..

The creature with "embody" supplies the body for the sacrificed spirit.
"Sacrifice" is just a game mechanical thing to make the spirit "disappear" as it enters its host.
The spirit doesn't die flavorwise, it takes possession of the creature with the embody keyword.
Thus the creature is enhanced because the spirit possesses it.

It seems to me that "put under" would have represented the flavor of embody better than "sacrifice".
But sacrifice was probably chosen for gameplay reasons.
